$5 Door

I did it again! I found something useful at my local Habitat for Humanity ReStore for a steal. I feel in love with this old black screen door, in very good shape too, for only $5. My mind was in high gear trying to figure out how I could use it? This is what I ended up with, a new entrance to my craft room, one that will allow the dog to see out when he's rushed in there when company comes or to keep the grandkids out when I have a project laid out. And it matches the decor in the living room that it faces. I couldn't believe my luck! Hubby asked if I was going to paint it, "No way" I said, that's the prim look I'm after! He's getting used to my ideas and even helped me hang it. All it needs now is a plaque that reads "Studio Sue" or something along that line, you get the picture! Stay tuned, photos of my bedroom coming to a screen near you, tomorrow! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, as I am!

  3. You are just too cool with all the decorating ideas you have in your head. I would never have thought to put a screen door INSIDE the house. Maybe I need to do that on the only window that opens in the front of the apartment that I can't get a screen for because it's too tall and opens out. I'm going to have to go looking. Thanks for always coming up with great tips. Good Job Sue! xxoo

  5. What a great idea! Thank you for telling us about the HFH ReStores. I just found our nearest one with a Google search, it's about an hour's drive from home, and plan to visit it soon. I may find some great bargains thanks to you.

  6. Howdy Sue,
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. Your blog is too cute! You and I have a lot in common it looks like.
Can you believe it, I only live an hours drive from Henrybellas. Brin is around the same age as my daughter and they have so much in common too. I can't wait to be able to head back over that way again in hopes that we find her place open. I teach all week, so not much time to get there. Maybe this summer. Hope you stop back by again soon. I'll be back!
    toodles....

  10. I love old screen doors. Yours looks perfect.
My hubby brought one home one day from a spring clean up---a freebie!!! We hung it on the outside wall of our summer kitchen and planted a clematis in front of it. That vine grows all over it and blooms so pretty.
    I just love thrifty finds!
