Catching up!

I'm a day late and a dollar short, it's summer and there's always so much to do! Since I messed up my knee, I'm learning to adjust so I won't have to have surgery, and keep that option as my last. Not that sitting at the computer puts it in jeopardy but, I've decided to retire my Tasty Tuesday posts! It's been 2 years and I think I only missed one or two but it's gotten to be one of the many things I have to do, and I don't want it to become dull. But, don't fret, I will still be posting yummy recipes as I find them, or as they find me, which happens more so than not! So, thank you all for supporting that part of my blog, it was fun!

I've returned to work after my 2 week break to rest my knee, and it did help, but I'm broke so I'm back among the working class! If only I could find a way to make money at home doing all the fun stuff I love to do?? But, MRI's aren't cheap, more like outrageously expensive!!!

Three of my four fair shots placed, so I was thrilled. The mums took second, the wagon took third and the VW bug placed fourth! Not that they deserved to place better but looking at all the competition, the ones that won big, weren't as good as some that didn't even place? I don't understand what some judges were thinking or looking for? I may never know, but I'll keep entering, for the fun of it and the learning curve!

The summer is just buzzing by, with several hot days followed by a cool front or rain. The garden is slim this year but what we do have planted is holding it's own  and I can still see some made salsa in my future! I'm trying not to complain about the heat, compared to last year, this is a piece of cake! Oh, don't forget to enter my Christmas in July giveaway, you have time so scroll down to that post and get entered!

Well, the puppy, who is getting so big, needs to go outside, so enjoy your summer to it's fullest and I hope you will return even though everyday will be tasty now, in one way or another! Happy summer!

Make sure to still baby your knee as much as possible. Don't feel bad about what you can't do right now, just focus on healing. It takes time.

  2. I am glad you reminded me about last years long heat wave...I will not complain any more either. I am sure your tasty Tuesday will be missed by many but to be honest I am cutting back on sweets and your Tuesday blog was a torture :) I am glad your knee is well enough for you to go back to work but sad you have to get back to a work routine.

  3. Summer is very hard, isn't it? So many things pulling you in so many different directions. Although I tend to make a stack of things to do in Winter.....and the stack is always too big to possibly accomplish. :) I hope your knee gets better and you are so right, MRI's aren't cheap!

  6. I'll miss your Tasty Tuesday posts, especially because Autumn is coming and you always have fabulous pumpkin recipes!

Perhaps you will do one once in awhile for those of us who've been with you for years. I honestly cannot remember when I started reading your blog, but it seems like at least four or five years ago. I keep it on my blog list on the front of my blog so that I see when you've updated. It's worth sharing, too!

Blessings to you from Harvest Lane Cottage,

    Laura

  7. Yeah, take care of that knee. I don't know what judges look for either in selecting placement of pictures. Sometimes I think they just close their eyes and just pick one. but the whole deal is to have fun and to me if I'm having fun then winning is a bonus.
One time my daughter entered a scratch art of a foal. Now a baby horse has a fuzzy bottle brush of a tail. the judge said to her---we went to the judging--foals do not have a tail like that--she probable didn't know a horse from a hole in the ground--so Shannon got a red ribbon. So I say--just make it fun. MB

  9. Hello Sue, Congrats on the photo placing at the fair. You should make some copies of the flowers and the wagon and make some gifts for someone! I have been sewing and looking forward to my new improved sewing room. Just curtains and new spread for bed and rose flowers and pink stuff.
I did send my email to ya!
Thanks again, and Blessings to you Sue!!!
