Tasty Tuesday

Pucker up, it's time to think about Valentines Day and another sweet reason to bake and play in the kitchen! And no better way to pucker up than to sink your teeth into a yummy lemon bar, this one we tested over the holidays, to balance all the chocolate desserts, and we loved it!! Taste of Home never disappoints! I'm thinking about coloring this pink or red for Valentines, maybe some heart sprinkles on top?

Creamy Lemon Cake Bars

1 pkg. lemon cake mix
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 egg
Beat in a large bowl till crumbly. Press onto bottom of a greased 13x9 baking pan.

1 can lemon frosting
1 pkg. cream cheese, soft
2 eggs
Beat frosting and cream cheese in another bowl till smooth. Set aside 1/2 cup for topping.Add eggs to remaining mixture, beat on low till combined. Spread over crust.
Bake at 350 for 35-40 min. or till filling is set. Cool. Spread reserved frosting over top. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Cut into bars, store in fridge. Enjoy!

  3. I've had these and they are VERY good! And a great idea for Valentines day:)

Hope you are enjoying the weather. We had another snow yesterday. Most of it melted today, but I think the persimmon seeds were right--it' gonna be a snowy winter!
