Tasty Tuesday

It's Tuesday and it's still HOT but on the bright side, it's also the last day of July, so I'm hoping we are getting closer to our average summer days, oh how I miss normal! Seems like everyone is finding ways to beat this heat but it's beating me up! One way to combat this madness is with a frosty treat, so I'm sharing my annual Frozen Hot Chocolate post. This icy dessert is one of those recipes that make you go hmmm, like fried ice cream! But, I promise, you don't need any fancy equipment or gadgets, just a pretty bowl because everything tastes better in fine china! Enjoy and keep cool!!!

Frozen Hot Chocolate

3 oz. good chocolate
2 Tbsp. store bought hot cocoa mix or homemade
1 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 c. milk
3 c. ice
whipped cream
Chop chocolate into small pieces and melt in a small saucepan, stirring till melted. Add the hot chocolate mix and sugar, stirring well till blended. Remove from heat and slowly add 1/2 c. of the milk and stir well again. Cool to room temp. In a blender place remaining 1 c. milk, the chocolate mix and ice. Blend on high till smooth and resembles a frozen drink. Pour into a tall glass or big cup and top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings or sprinkles. Enjoy!

Sounds like a keeper! And Sue, I don't handle the heat and humidity as well as I used either. I am currently enjoying a full out rainstorm which dropped the temp about 15 degrees!
