The Calm

I've lost the calm, that little feeling of security that no matter the storm, we will remain warm and safe inside. The calm resides at our old house where it has stood for over 75 years lending me comfort. We are tucked away in our new house awaiting the first real storm of the season, a early threat of ice then snow. The house sits on a hill surrounded by very old trees, ones I'd hate to lose, ever! Not knowing how this house can hold up to a ice storm remains to be seen. I'd rather contend with snow, but Mother Nature is in a bitter mood bringing us ice first. I'll be fine as long as we don't loose power, my heart aches for those effected by the record ice storms on the east coast, you are in my prayers. Tonight is the calm before the storm, I am prepared to stay home all week if needed, I got alot of craft supplies yesterday from Hobby Lobby who was having a wonderful sale just for this purpose. Wish us luck!

For those of you who are having trouble becoming a follower, your not alone, I too have a time of signing up on blogs. Try highlighting "Become a follower", that should take you to where you need to be in order to be added to the list. Hopefully it will work for you, as it did me when I tested it just minutes ago? Thank you newbies too for enlisting, all 51 of you are in the drawing come the 20th. Good luck to you!

I had a great time in the city with my daughter in law, we hit each craft store in sheer delight, stocking up with Valentines in mind for our Etsy store. As good as it was to get away for the day, it was even better to get home. I can almost understand road rage, there are some stupid people out there, driving! Everyone stay warm and safe in your haven called home and we will start a new week together, hopefully, if the weather permits!

  3. Will say a prayer that you are all safe and secure. I, too, feel for those affected by the ice North of where I live. We are expecting rain all week with rising and then falling temps, so good luck to us all. xxoo

  4. Stay safe and warm during your storm. We are having our first snowfall here right now. No ice yet, thank goodness.

  5. I know how you must be feeling, Sue. I'll be praying that yur home will be a haven of safety for you. We are expecting an ice storm here as well within 2 days. We are surrounded by forest and I'm planning to keep the children and myself in the center of our home ... just in case.

I don't quite understand the followers thing. Isn't it the same as our favorites? I might just add all my favorite blogs to it so I can see their little faces on my blog but I'm not sure.

    Christmas blessings,
    Lea

  7. I know that there will be additional times to be calm or worried this week with the weather. Remember, dear one, that our calm comes from the Father. It's not our homes that keep us safe; it is He Alone.

    Bless you,
    Laura
