Catching up....

Today is all about catching up, I see what gets the most comments, food and giveaways, so there will be more of both, soon to come! My Christmas card exchange didn't go over as I had hoped, but that's alright, I know it's hard enough without adding to it. But if your'e looking for a holiday swap that is cheap and easy, please check out my little's sister blog, she's hosting a ornament swap in plenty of time to add a new one to your tree. I'm joining in on this one and hopefully we will get more to do the same! I've gotten a few tips behind the red doors of a church, seems some are painted bright red to represent Christ's blood. And I've learned that all Episcopal churches (like the one below) paint their front doors red, not sure why yet but I thought it was interesting.

As you can see I did find some pillows for my thrifty love seat, and it was cheaper to buy them instead of making them, I was shocked! But sometime this winter when it slows down some, I plan to recover them but for now they work fine, even Lou likes them! He has claimed this bench as his, for now....

My graditude moment today finds me blessed to have good health, it's not perfect mind you but I could be doing alot worse. I have a cleaning service and I work for some lovely people who are facing hardships regarding health. We all probably know someone with cancer. My little woes are small comapared to many so when my back hurts, I keep silent. When my body aches, I'm silent. When my sinus trouble takes over, I stay silent. I pray for my friends who face the unknown. Good health is pricelss!

  1. I'm so sorry the card exchange didn't work out as you planned. I seriously thought about it and thought it would be fun, but without having an idea of how many cards I'd need to send, I just didn't want to commit. . .

  2. Awww! Lou looks so comfortable on the love seat. Like it's his own little space. So precious!

I feel like you do about trying not to let people know that I'm falling apart as I age. I try to help as many people as I can and not let them know that my feet, back and legs ache so bad I could just sit down and cry. Gotta keep moving, gotta keep trying and gotta keep the old mind sharp. You are a blessing, sweet girl. xxoo

  3. Your Lou looks very comfortable, how nice you got him a bench of his own, lol. I had a Great Dane that took over a love seat. We never did break her of her love of that chair. She was such a sweetie, I really didn't try that hard-don't tell.
Prayers to you and your friends,
    Pat

  8. I salvaged a love seat just like this one that one of my daughters was going to throw away. I sprayed it red, put some webbing and grass sack material in it, filled it with soil and flowers and it became a focal point in some of my decorating. I got more compliments on it. I set it just inside a section of our toolshed so that it didn't get rained on--I was afraid the wood would rot. I can't wait to plant in it again next Spring. You can see a picture of it on my blog.
