300th Post Giveaway
Just a quick post here as I am working on another project for the kitchen, I'll give you a hint, it has something to do with chalkboard paint? Thought I'd share a close up of the hutch, or what I call, the deal of the century, since so many commented on it. Once again, my taste has changed, if you asked me last year if I wanted black furniture in my new house, I would laughed at you, but it's perfect for this place, funny how that works out. I've realized I just passed my 300th post, so like others have done, it's time to celebrate it with a giveaway, long over due at that! So, just leave me a comment here on what you display on your hutch or what you would if you had one, I'll leave this open till for one week, so you have till the 23rd. I plan to change out the china according to the seasons or holidays, so it will be ever changing, depending on my mood. So, get signed up, not sure what I'll be giving away, but it will have to do with something for the house! Good luck to all!

I do have a hutch that belonged to my Grandmother and I have my good blue sailor china sitting on it.The china was also my grandmothers.
ReplyDeleteHi Friend Sue,
ReplyDeleteThe china hutch I have is one that my husband picked up on the side of the road. The man was moving to a small apartment and couldn't take it. He gave it to my husband.
I am blessed to have my grandma's china, my mother's china, a china tea service from my step-mom's mother, and my own china that my mother gave me over the years.
It's wonderful to have things from the women in my family. I plan to pass the sets down someday.
Enjoy that new home!
Laura
I have a miniature hutch in my kitchen and it is filled with antique bowls. It was a gift from my mother and I simply cherish it.
ReplyDeleteYours is so lovely. I am starting to love black too! In fact, seems like everything I look at in the house I evaluate it for a change to black. So prim but elegant.
Smiles,
Lea
I don't have a hutch, but if I did, I would display some of the glassware & china that was my grandmother's. I also have a beautiful pickle dish/serving piece that was a gift from me to my great aunt & great uncle when they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. My great aunt gave it back to me as a housewarming gift! I thought that was the coolest thing & I currently have it on display, but it would be a great addition to a hutch. Thanks for the chance to win something for the house! Have a great rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteI've already been spoiled by your kindness, but how can I pass this up?
ReplyDeleteI put you as a link on my blog - hope that's okay!
I'm loving the pictures of your house! Look at that amazing old radio! That's a treasure!
don't have a hutch. don't have the space for one. If i did, it'd be black!
ReplyDeleteI have 2 hutches. The one in my kitchen holds some of my collection of Pfaltzgraff Yorktowne and cookbooks and kitchen linens. The one in my diningroom holds my china and crystal and my Christmas china. I do like your hutch and I like the bold colors you are choosing to use in your home.
ReplyDeleteYour hutch looks FANTASTIC!!! I don't have one...but oh if I did...it would be decorated with prim/country decor...probably americana stuff so it would look good in my dining room! :) thanks so much for a giveaway! Too fun! have a great day!
ReplyDeleteLooking good! Yes, please enter me i your givaway! :)
ReplyDeleteMy largest, most favorite hutch one holds my Longabeerger & Peterboro baksets, a wooden bowl of goodies and a couple of teddy bears.
I use to have a corner hutch but our new house has so many openings and windows and no corner. I had on it a pottery plate from a teenie pottery store in Cleveland, MS my daughter got for me and some pewter pieces my family has gotten for me over the years.
ReplyDeleteMiss that hutch!
I have a hutch..it looks more like a dresser though...I have a dried flower arrangement in the center of it and on the sides are bowls of pinecones from our yard. It appears that my DH likes to put his cowboy hat on there too so I try to make it look like it fits in..LOL...
ReplyDeleteI'm loving your new pics!
Until next time,
Heather
I just discovered your blog today. What a pretty hutch!
ReplyDeleteI have a china cabinet in my dining room that I bought at an aunt's estate sale. I love it mostly because it belonged to her.
In it, I display china inherited from my dh's grandmother (that is from occupied Japan - probably bought during the Korean War) and pretty green and pink glass dishes.
My DH built my hutch for me out of old barnwood - it houses my mother in laws hand painted coffee set, a variety of blue and white pottery bowls, and some antique cook books. :)
ReplyDeleteSue, I just caught a glimpse of your dining room! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 300th post!
The hutch, in our hearth room holds quite a few of our white dishes and serving pieces. I tried to stick with mostly white, there. The black cabinet in the breakfast room has some old and new crock bowls, a very old and chipped platter, picturing cows, that belonged to a neighbor (no longer living) at the farm and a few other odds and ends pieces.
Have a great rest of the week and weekend.
Pat
Congrats on 300!!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a hutch but if I did I would display coffee related items since that is the theme of my kitchen :)
Thank you for the giveaway!
We have a built in hutch in our very old house. I display old china from my grandmother and my fairy collection.
ReplyDeleteI love the red color in your dining room! Very pretty :)
I cant see you haveing black in your house. It looks nice. Please add me to your list. Love ya
ReplyDeleteAntique glassware and china would be the call of the day/
ReplyDeleteCongrats on reaching 300 posts!!!
I haven`t got a hutch yet, on my wish list. When that wonderful hutch does arrive I will display my china set that is still growing. Now it is in boxes. I would display some of my antique linens, also tucked away. I can`t see not enjoying them. I may need two hutches. So much stuff. So few hutches!
ReplyDeleteLove that red paint!
Our hutch were made by the Amish and it's beautiful in its simplicity, yet functional because it holds all my 'good' stuff. Mostly we have a second set of dishes (from DH's first marriage; we're both on #2), crystal wine glasses that we rarely use, old vintage placemats and napkins, nick-nacks that I've acquired over the years, and a wonderful teaset that my mother gave me years ago. Thanks for the giveaway.

ReplyDeleteCongrats on the 300th! You are such a sweety to be hostessing a giveaway. Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteI have an old china cabinet, made in 1923, it has some very eclectic things in it. I may take a pic and post it sometime. xxoo
Hi, I found your blog through Peggy, the Simple Woman.
ReplyDeleteI display my pink Depression-era glassware on top of my hutch, and intersperse the smaller pieces with seasonal items on the lower shelves.
I am having a Christmas in July giveaway through the end of the month, and a Beach Party celebrating my 5oth post on Friday. I hope you stop by!
Congratulations on 300 posts, I can only aspire!
I don't have a hutch, but I do have a china cabinet that was both my mom's and my grandmother's. It is in the dining room. Most of what I have in it is my grandmother's tea set, my mom's china she bought when she married, and a few pieces I've picked up myself.
ReplyDeleteI really love the way that black hutch looks with your red wall!
R~Mary
Congrats on your awards; If I had a hutch, I would change it with the seasons; I like prim and country; at Christmas it would be filled with the things that show the spirit of the Season. I collect crows as well so always a crow or two. I have added you to my blog favorites and have you in my feed. Thanks; Have a Blessed Week :) Merrie at wheretheblackbirdssing.blogspot.com

ReplyDeletelots of collections (ie rabbits,cats,
