Hutch Love

Time flys when you make it a point to celebrate each month, and my hutch has seen a year full of fun and fancy! What started out as a $20 find, stuck in the 70's and restored to match my dining room, ended up being the focal point, not only in the room, but for the whole house and spirit! The dark greenish wood was stripped, primed and painted in cedar birch, a calming antique white that allows me to change out the themes from month to month without being too busy. The work and labor paid off, and it was the best $20 I ever spent!  I love to bring out my treasures for each new theme, my oldest grand daughter looks forward to it and I'm glad, I hope to pass my love of china onto her!
Life is too short to keep your treasures hidden, so bring them out, use them, display them and treat your home to a monthly celebration!

  1. I have an old mantle that I got for $10 at a flea market. With some textured spray paint I turned it into my display piece and change it's decor each season, too. Love your hutch! My husband is still confused at to what the point of my mantle is, but I love it ;)

  2. Dear Sue, YOU know I love your hutch :) I am looking forward to seeing the new pictures for this coming year! I have been practicing with my camera almost daily trying to learn a little each day.
It will be a new learning curve this year. Have a good weekend!

  3. What a fun collage of your hutch decor....I would love to have a area to decorate like yours...And I agree that life is to short not to share and celebrate your treasures. Some of us just do not do it as well as you. :)

  5. The life of a hutch. I had a similar one that I tricked out at different seasons. When I moved in with Bob I gave my daughter the hutch and other neat furniture too. I am slowly changing things here at Bob's and soon his hutch will be sporting new looks also. I am evil!!!!!!
Hows the Valentine swap coming along?
