Tasty Tuesday

Oh delicious autumn, goodies of all kinds, teasing the senses and filling the house with fresh aromas of pumpkin, apple and coffee! My afternoon coffee breaks are back, and I'm treating myself to homemade creamer, pumpkin spice of course! Now, there are many recipes out there but I always go back to this one, yet, I can't remember where it came from, it's been ripped out of a magazine many years ago, all stained and torn, but still readable!

Homemade Pumpkin Pie creamer

1 c. whole milk
1 c. heavy cream
3 T. puree pumpkin
1 t. pumpkin pie spice
4 T. maple syrup
1 t. vanilla
Whisk together the milk, heavy cream, pumpkin, spice and maple syrup in a med pan over med heat, allow to steam, then remove from heat and add vanilla. Strain through a sieve or cheesecloth and store in bottle, and keep refrigerated. Enjoy!

Tomorrow is Halloween so don't be fooled or tricked into buying those expensive dairy creamers, treat yourself and make your own! It's very easy and makes a nice gift for any coffee lover!

  4. Sounds delish! How long does it usually last? I know milk and cream can last a while, but with the pumpkin I'm not sure.
    Thanks!

  5. Hello, I just wanted to see what you were up to for Tasty Tuesday, love the creamer idea!
I just want to say the last post on that old home really got to me.
I also can see that just using our imagination was a better way to remember the home, the reality was so sad. Hope to make the pumpkin fudge tomorrow!
