Tasty Tuesday
When I was a kid, many moons ago, I loved going to the mall with my friends. We had no money but window shopping satisfied us, along with a orange julius from the food court! I'm not a mall rat anymore, in fact, I hate going to the mall, but I've never out grown this refreshing treat from my childhood. I used to make these for my kids when they were little, and now it's time to introduce my grand kids to them.
Orange Julius
1 can frozen orange juice ( 6 oz.)
1 c. milk
1 c. water
1/4 c. sugar
1 t. vanilla
6 ice cubes
Mix everything but the ice cubes in a blender well. Pour over ice. Enjoy!

Hello Sue,
ReplyDeleteYou are so right that was many moons ago for me as well; I enjoyed the same pleasure with my girlfriends at the mall. I am sure if we lived in the same small town back then we would have been best friends.
Smiles, Paula
I too remember going to the mall and getting an Orange Julius...Oh the memories.
ReplyDeleteSounds yummy ! Thanks for the recipe!Hugs,Jen

Thank you so much for this recipe. Like you, I used to buy them at the mall when I was a teenager. Now, I don't like to go to the mall, either. I haven't been to a mall in almost two years!
ReplyDeleteI'll be trying this!
Ha! Guess it's a universal thing with girls to window shop and drink OJs! Between your post and Paula Parrish making OJ soap, I'm having terrible cravings! Think I'll try your recipe ~ thanks for sharing:)

Just tried your recipe for OJ, did not have much milk so I used coconut milk instead. Wow is this ever refreshing, and takes me back to the day, cruising in the mall window shopping, cuz could not afford lots of things then, but could afford and orange julius!!! Thank you for sharing!!!!
ReplyDeleteCan you believe I lived in such a small town that there wasn't even a mall around? But I did hear about it and always wondered what it would taste like. Now I can make one, and finally taste one!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait!!
I'm a new blogger, I've enjoyed yours for a long time. Please drop by and say "hi" sometime! Blessings!
Ditto! hitting the Mall & getting an Orange Julius was a real treat back then,,,years ago I found a recipe for them, the same as yours 'cept we used powdered milk... but I like Paula's comment about using coconut milk! Think I just might have to give that a try....
