Recycle and ReUse

While hunting up ideas for a cheap garden shed, I came across these made from wood pallets that can be found pretty easily. I love this idea! Not only are they cheap, but we'll be recycling and reusing what other wise might end up in the landfill. Just look at the amazing results from discarded pallets! My mind is rushing with ideas and styles, my dream of a garden shed is just a few dumpster diving trips away!

  2. Not only is that a great way to reuse the pallets, but I agree that it's a great savings too. When you price the prebuilt sheds they are outrageously expensive for what you get. That little one in the top left photo is especially cute! Great post!!

  3. Sue, we used some pallet lumber on the interior walls of our "Barn/Cottage" last year. I also have some pallet boards awaiting my hammer and nails to be used for donkey barn kickboards (that project has been waiting a while!). Anyway, you can't believe how wonderful some of that lumber actually is. It can be intensive labor to pull the pallets apart and remove the nails, but worth it in the end! I'll probably use some pallet lumber in my upcoming chicken coop as well :) -Tammy

  4. Susie what a great way to use pallets. They are usually pretty available too. Thanks for the tip and I hope you show your results.

  5. Nice post. The buildings have that nice rustic touch. Most of the pallets we find out here are free and OAK!

  7. When we moved in to our cabin there was a sunroom and extra room attached to the side of the house that had no flooring, so my husband brought home pallets from work, removed the boards and nails and we put them on the floor as a hardwood floor. We then sanded it down and stained it. Only cost was hard labor and the stain.
