Tis the season.....we found a tree yesterday and I was shocked at the prices, doubled from last year but hubby reminded me about the ice storm last January and the loss from that was probably to blame. But our home is filled with a fresh pine scent and I'm just about done decorating it, unless I change my mind and re-do it. I'm not a perfectionist but darn close, I'm thinking I want something different and I really like the idea of just snowflakes, glass icicles and silver bells....we shall see. But the gingerbread tree is up in the library and just as sweet as can be! Photos will be posted when the whole house is done, but it takes me days if I don't change my mind.
Back to the giveaway, this one will be a crafty one since crafting for Christmas is my favorite thing, so just leave me a crafty comment here on what you make for Christmas or would like too. Just one year, I'd love to have a homemade Christmas where every gift is handmade from each of us, just one year. I think that would be the best time! I'll leave this giveaway open for one week so spread the word, leave your comment, cross your fingers and I'll get busy whipping up something special for the winner. Good luck to all and to all a good night!
just visitin' and love your place! I love to make all kinds of sweet little decorations and stockings at Christmas, but my sewing machine died this month! Just waiting for Santa. . . .

ReplyDeleteHow lovely to find your blog. This year I made Christmas pillow. That was fun. Now I think I'll go make some of your cute ornaments.
ReplyDeleteChristmas crafts are my absolute favorites. I especially love the ones made with applesauce and cinnamon.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing your pictures!
Sewing and crocheting are in the works this year ... Christmas dress, aprons, guitar hero scarf, blankies ... it should be fun!
ReplyDeleteI just purchased myself a sewing machine this weekend on sale ($39). I am going to learn to sew, so I can make TONS of gifts! I am already making jar candle votives this year for friends and family. Last year I made tile coasters. So I try to make most of mine for several years now.
ReplyDeleteThis year I am crafting up slippers for all the girls in the family. That makes about 15 pair of slippers I will be making (probably more because I want some and so do my girls! hehehe)
ReplyDeleteHope your Christmas crafting is fun!

I have dried some cinnamon covered apple and orange slices. I plan to string them with some pine sprigs and pine cones to make a garland. I also plan to make ornaments using cinnamon, white glue, and apple sauce. I will also be making a few gift baskets for gifts. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Elizabeth

So glad you have your tree up! I look forward to pics! :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to try making some Christmas wreaths sometime. I think that would be a great craft to try and a nice gift to give away to people! :)
I have just made an advent calendar with pockets. I have also knitted presents like hats, scarves, handwarmers, brooches, etc, before, and made felt decorations for the tree, and as presents, amongst other things - I have pics on my blog. This year, though, I am a bit overrun on other fronts, so am buying handmade from other crafty bloggers.
ReplyDeleteIt is very kind of you to do a Christmas giveaway - I'd love to join in!

Good Morning Sue :)
ReplyDeleteYour ornaments are so cute! I too love the color combination - very vintage. I like to make ornaments each year as well as homemade goodies: Jams, Jellies, Mustards. Homemade Marshmallows are a signature gift from our home as well as Fresh Roasted Coffee from my honey :) I was hoping to learn how to sew this year to make gifts but it won't be happening until after the holidays - oh well, jump start for next year :)
Have a Blessed day in the Lord!
Sharon
Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat giveaway! Well, I am working on pillows this year.
Needlepoint ones.
Cute setup for your blog.
hugs.
I work through the year on knitted gifts I give at Christmas. But as the season nears I do baked crafts with nieces and nephews.
ReplyDeleteI just like to make homemade candies and cookies to give away. I've already started with making peanut butter cups for my kids. Lena

I love giveaways, especially at Christmas time. Thanks a lot. Usually I am a "wood" girl, but I have been doing a lot of sewing lately and am enjoying it. Blessings to you, Kim the prim schoolmarm
ReplyDeleteOver the years, I've crafted many gifties for everyone and their brother! Most appreciate it, others not so much...so I am particular now as to who gets something handmade with love and time. Always had the kids make an ornament or potholders, something for them to give to all the aunts in the family...I loved the time spent with them. One year, I made jams and jellies for everyone...yummy.
ReplyDeleteThe last couple years I've made most of my gifts. I love it.
ReplyDeleteThis year I am sad to say I havent had the sewing machine out, but I am gonna try to make a few 'prim' gifts before the holidays.
I'm making my niece an alphabet playmat for Christmas. I must get it quilted this weekend if I'm to finish it in time. Can't wait to see your Christmas decorations x

ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and signing up for my giveaway! Thanks also for inviting me over to sign up for yours! ; )
Not sure if you know, but when I clicked on your comment, the link to bring me to your site doesn't work. I just took a guess based on the name with your comment that you were possibly "countrypleasures.blogspot.com" and it worked! ; )
Thanks again for stopping by my place. Always great to meet new friends! = )
Hi..Thanks for the chance to win a great giveaway.. I love baking things and giving them away in baskets and such.
