Forgiveness

This is our apple tree today, standing tall and free of ice.

This is the same apple tree last week, weighed down by ice and sleet, isn't Mother Nature amazing and forgiving! I still don't care for the ice, even more so after this winter but I must agree with those who commented on how pretty it was, and it was, a true winter wonderland, esp. when the sun came out and everything sparkled, icles hanging all about just beamed. The stillness was true silence. I can say all of this because we never lost power and were kept warm and safe, missed 4 days of work but we were safe. My area is down to a little over 500 still in the dark, that number is down from over 11,000. I am grateful! I too will forgive the weather and look forward to the next season. I know the groundhog saw his shadow leaving us with 6 more weeks of winter, but in 4 weeks we change the clocks ahead to day time savings so spring has to be right around the corner, right?

  4. Wow! What a burden for your poor tree. Happy to hear everyone is getting their power back.

The Follow link on my page seems to be working now. Every once in a while it screws up. Thanks for trying.

  9. Yes, Spring is right around the corner and I'm praying you'll be the first to notice it coming. I have a feeling in the new house, you'll see lots of things coming alive before you know it. Can't wait to see if your apple tree blossoms too. Apple flowers are so pretty. xxoo

  10. So glad that you're safe & well, Sue. We received very little ice and I was so thankful. Glad your tree made it ... they're like old friends and its so sad to lose one.

  11. The ice is very pretty, I agree. But very dangerous too. I love snow, but not the ice! Down here, we have ice storms at least 1-3 times every winter. But snow maybe once if we are lucky. I'll take that snow anyday!
I'm glad that y'all never lost power. And I hope that the ones that did will soon have it restored.
Enjoy the rest of your week!

  12. Wow! That's quite a "before & after" if I ever saw one! It really is beautiful. Glad to see the poor tree is still standing strong. I'm looking for spring too! It has to be close! :)

  13. My dh works for a factory that makes electrical poles and fittings, etc. He is on over-time while the factory hurries to get out orders from that ice storm. It's always a mixed-blessing when extra orders come in. They have over-time hours but we know somewhere, someone is hurting.
