Tree Hugger
The trees at our new place are old and huge, as seen here, that little blue thing is my Explorer! This tree has to be a couple hundred years old, hugging the house with cool share during the hottest part of the day. I just love trees, I guess that is why I was taken with this place even before I stepped inside. The 2 acres is mostly open, good garden land, but the front has a little oasis feeling about it, with many tall trees, such a peaceful place. My plans for this spot are walking paths with a couple of sitting areas, plenty of shade plants circling the trees, ferns and hostas are my favorites. The renters told us that alot of deer pass through here, I can't wait to sit on the deck with coffee in one hand and my camera in the other!
The other night we ripped out all the carpet in the house and I started painting the dining and living room yesterday, my colors for these rooms will match since they are open to each other are a brick red and carmel. I've never gone red before so this will be bold for us, but this house needs some color and I just love the two together, I can't wait to show you the results! I've also talked my hubby into doing our bedroom in blue and brown, he really liked the photo I posted! The work has begun but it's a labor of love for a house that was meant to be ours! If I could hug this tree I would, but I'll honor it and love it each day! There really is a calm feeling up there, always a breeze, has to be the trees!

You paint such a nice picture of your new place. I can just see you sitting under the trees enjoying a nice glass of tea. Wait until Autumn, I'll bet it will be really beautiful there. Thanks for sharing these wonderful pics. xxoo
ReplyDeleteSue,
ReplyDeleteYour new home looks sooo wonderful and peaceful! I'm sure you will love it. Don't you just love the trees? That was why we picked our home here a year ago - the large shade trees!
Enjoy! and thanks for sharing!

I'm just so happy for you, Sue. It sounds wonderful. A few years ago we bought a house and painted the rooms just burgundy, navy and raffia tan, and just raffia tan. I had wallpaper border in quilted hearts that brought it all together. That was one of my favorite houses because I really made it mine.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy, my Friend Sue!

Beautiful tree! We have some huge ones, too, and I just love them. Your red and caramel sounds so pretty~I''m looking forward to seeing the pictures. I think you'll love the red.
ReplyDeleteI've been struggling with the right color for my kitchen cabinets and have finally decided on red! I had this color of red in another place a long time ago and really loved it~never got tired of it. I'll try to post some pictures after they are painted.

Sue, that tree is magnificent! Makes me feel good just seeing the photo!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!

Hi Sue!
ReplyDeleteLove that huge tree and I'm sure you are going to make a beautiful garden space around it! Be careful of planting roses, though, because deer love roses. I found that out the hard way when the ones down here in Georgia completely stripped the plants all in one night!!
A couple of posts back I saw your cute house. It's just darling and I know you have put a lot of work into it and are so proud!
Hugs, Bebe :)
those trees are incredible & you'll love the red! what fun.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a perfect place for you two plus family. I am glad I finally got to see it too. I remember when you mentioned this place last year. Peace MB
ReplyDeleteOh Sue, honestly, it looks simply breathtaking. And I love your ideas of making walking paths and little sitting areas. That could not be more perfect.
ReplyDeleteHope you'll chronicle your journey to share with us.
Smiles
