April Showers

April showers bring May flowers, except in our case, they bring more flooding! After a record wet March, April is proving to keep up. We got 6 more inches the other day, after getting 5 just the week before. All creeks and rivers are flooded, ditches too. It's truly amazing how much water can fall from the sky in such a short time, I was beginning to understand what Noah went through! lol The ground is like a sponge again, but so forgiving, soaking it all up in good amount of time, with the help from the sun and wind. Mother Nature is having a off year so far, she must be really sad to pour out the tears like she has........but on the other hand, everything is so green, bright green even and buds of all colors are peeking out and the landscape no matter where you go is alive. I just love spring time!

I'm late for posting my "Thankful Thursday", the computer sat unplugged all day yesterday due to the severe storms in the area, but it's never too late to be thankful so I'll give you a quickie! lol This week I'm thankful for the storms that passed through uneventful. I'm thankful for the extra work that came my way and friendships made here. And as always, I'm thankful for each new day that God has blessed us with!

Thank you all for the sweet comments on my grandson and the kitty. The kitty belongs to his cousin, Chloe but it's missing, has been the day after that photo was taken. Were all hoping he finds his way home, or that some one took him in and is loving him, like Chloe did. She doesn't understand why he's gone but hopefully she will always remember him as her first pet. One great thing about blogging is it can be the biggest brag book for Grandma! So, if you see any photos of little ones here, they are probably my sweet grandchildren, so don't mind this grandma bragging a little from time to time! My blessings to everyone for a wonderful weekend, we will be doing some more packing and getting ready for a benefit yard sale. Hugs to all!

  1. I love reading your Thanksful Thursdays posts. I keep thinking maybe I should start doing them. I'm thankful for the rain, I know we needed it and I'm thankful it wasn't any worse than it was that no one was hurt. School was dismissed early that day and that I know of, no teens were in car wrecks or injured in anyway from the storm. We were supposed to get more that night, and didn't so I'm thankful for that. I'm thankful for God, Jesus, my hubby, daughter, parents, grandparents, in laws, family, friends, and our church. I'm thankful for my salvation, I'm thankful for all the blessings God has given us! Max still hasn't shown up-it's a week later. I'm still praying for his return so Chloe can have her first kitty back. I'm thankful for the power of prayer and faith and that even the little things like praying for a lost kitty that God takes as serious as the big stuff. He is an awesome God!

  2. We, too, have an abundance of rain. We are so happy. The ponds are full for the first time since the drought of last year.

I love that you share photos of those precious children! They are truly one of God's greatest gifts.

    Farmgirl hugs,
    Lea
