Oh yes I did!!

Forget what I did over my summer vacation, let's just forget our extreme summer all together, and focus on what I did when the Internet was out! I found my chalkboard paint, almost half a can. Remember my cabinet makeover from a few posts ago, it got painted, as did the fridge! Yes, I painted our refrigerator doors with chalkboard paint! It's a older model, we only paid $100 for it, it was only suppose to be a temp since our house didn't have one when we bought it and we had to find something fast. That was 4 yrs. ago, and it was used then, so we got our money's worth, now it's gotten a upgrade and hopefully will keep running a bit longer! In my defense, I had to use the paint up but I really do like it and will have much fun playing with it! I was asked on Facebook what Uncle Wes said when he saw it? He shook his head and went back to mowing! He's the greatest husband ever!!!  So, what do you do when the internet is out? lol

  1. What a neat idea and it looks GREAT!
Useful as well and you can't beat that. I would do it in a heartbeat, but being that we just purchased a brand new ref. I don't think I would just get a shake of the head. But hey, I do have one in the garage that holds drinks....this is a clever way to make something look new.

  2. I love the way it turned out, I wouldn't have the guts to paint it. This idea should be put out on Pinterest!!!

  3. You brave soul! But I guess if you only paid $100 and it was an older model, what do you have to lose, right? And it looks totally awesome!

  4. Oh I love it! That is something I would do =)
I really enjoy your blog, so I though I'd just leave a comment and say hi.

  5. What a great idea..I love it! Fits right in with your kitchen...who knows it may last 10 more years..they are not being made like they were in the "old days". Who would have thought that refrigerators can easily cost $2000.00

    Have a great day!

  6. Great idea!!
I finally get some work done when the internet is out!

  7. That is such a cool idea! What fun. I bet your grand kids love to doodle on the frig now, huh?
I usually find a good book to read or clean, but this is a way more creative idea.
    Love it!

    Blessings, Amy

  8. It looks great in your kitchen...I admire that you get an idea and just go with it. :)

Standing ovation- !!! and your sweet island looks fabulous too! The black definitely made it all POP! Have to tell you I'm totally coveting your Rooster rug too. My eye just went STRAIGHT to the little circle rug.... what a keeper! Your home is truly beautiful Sue and looks so warm and inviting! I love your old tins! I have the same folgers tin! The fat hen with apples in it is so cute too! What's in the punkin cookie jar? beany brownies?! ;)

  10. Oh I am t-e-m-p-t-e-d!
My fridge is old and ugly.
    But we rent.
    I wonder....
