Lasagna Gardening

No, this isn't a Tasty Tuesday post or a recipe for lasagna, but it is about a layering system for your garden that claims "no digging, no tilling, no weeding, no kidding" ! Of course this all sounds too good to be true, so I"m putting it to the test this spring in our gardens. I'm devoting one bed to this system to see if it really works. I've heard alot of good reviews and who doesn't love the name, it sure makes you hungry for lasagna! With book in hand, thanks to my local library, I'm armed with details and instructions to begin this new way of gardening. I'll keep you posted and will blog along the way, till then, if anyone has tried this method, let me know, I'd love to hear about your experience with it!

In case you haven't spotted my BlogFrog community yet, pop on over and get involved in the discussions that are up just waiting for you. This whole idea will allow us to get more involved with each other and share our stories, learn and grow. Just click on the button in the sidebar, hope to see you there too!

  2. I am all ears on this! :) I used newspapers and straw last year to choke out the weeds. It worked! But I think the lasagna method sounds even better. -Tammy

  3. My husband and I read Patricia Lanza's book last year, and we LOVE lasagna gardening. I found you through a link at another blog, but I can't figure out how to follow you!

We have a huge flower bed made lasagna-style, and our new vegetable beds are all lasagna! You'll LOVE it. We write about it on our blog.

Can you tell me what font you are using for the body of your blog, I love it! How do you get it to work?

    Thanks,

  7. Hello Sue :)

I think I need to try this. We always have so many weeds and I feel so defeated. Thanks for the reminder.

Wishing you and your family a Blessed Resureection Day!

  8. Ha! That's cute to have the actual lasagna as the header. I was purchasing a magazine at a large bookstore one time and it said something on the front about "lasagna gardening". The clerk spent quite a bit of time staring at it before she turned to me and asked if you actually use noodles in the lasagna garden. I smiled and assured her no noodles no sauce and no meat. She was confused.
    Happy gardening!!
