Wow, I'm back! I've been trying to post here for 4 days, it just wouldn't let me for some unknown reason, so I set my settings back to the old editor and here I am! I had hoped to get this posted last week with time on my side, but I guess it's never too late for a giveaway, right! Of course this one is all about Valentines day, the day of love and I love you all so what better reason to put together a little giftie bag of love. I love this day because we got engagaed on Valentines day 1992 and it's been sweet stuff ever since and still is! I love that VAlentine's Day gives us an "official" day to be lovey, sweet and romantic. It kinda helps *remind* any unromantic men to do something *romantic*! ;)

ReplyDeleteI also love all the sparkly hearts, cards, and candy, of course. And roses. My hubby sometimes buys a rose bush for me~which I prefer to a bouquet!
first of all I love how you decorate your blog for each holiday etc..you do a great job of it..I loved Valentines as a kid as our dad would get us a big card and put money in it along with candy..he would be very sneaky and go out the back door and put it all on the front door and then ring it and run..it was always our first valentines we would get before we headed out the door to put valentines on our friends door steps and then run...we of course had to have a little fun in the process and put one valentine on a string and when they reached for it..we would run and watch the recipient try to catch it..;) those were the days..:)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about Valentine's Day is the parties the kids have at school. So much fun to get Valentines from your friends. I also love getting my hubby to take me out to eat!

But I am sad to say I haven't had much romance in my life and I do hope someday my prince will come and shower me with romance. A girl can only dream. Love makes the world go around. I never was all that fond of Valentines Day until the year my hubby and I got married.We tried to book the church for Feb 14th but ended up with Feb 12th so for us it's a 3 day Anniversary/Valentines Celebration.

I love the history of valentines day that started with ST. Valentine. I love that diets are thrown out the window on Valentines day and chocolate is a requirement. IN FACT: A REQUIREMENT. lol I love the romance, the extra sparks that fly, and the little surprises of LOVE. I especially love that we love because GOD first LOVED us!!!

There was a year when things were very tight financially and my honey and I did not have any money for gifts or dinner so...we bought a bag of conversation hearts and wrote each other poems with them. His to me was titled "Girl" and mine to him was titled "Cool Dude:. We had so much fun and now we purchase a bag and do the same each year :)

I absolutely love Valentine's Day for many reasons...met my hubby on Valentine's Day 1983, he proposed to me on V-day in 1984 and we got married in 1985 and then in 1986, the birth of our daughter the day AFTER Valentine's day. Valentine's a day for lovers...it's our one day of the year that we don't need to feel guilty about spending time with one another and sending the kids to grandmas! LOL

I love Valentine's Day because it gives me an excuse to eat lots of chocolate! Also, I got lots of chocolate as a gift, and I can buy lots of chocolate on sale after Valentine's is over. I love chocolate (I'm sure that's obvious by now!). :-)

I love having a day set aside to tell everyone "I LOVE YOU": family, friends, husband, and kids. We should of course say that special phrase every day of the year, but on Valentine's we are reminded of how much we love other people!
