Afternoon Tea Giveaway

High tea, Fireside Tea or Sweet Sixteen Tea, no matter the occasion, this book has everything you need to host a tea party, complete with recipes and lovley photos of fine china. And, I'm giving it away! In honor of my sister's visit next week, a sister who loves tea and thanks to a special friend who gifted me a copy of this book but I had already had one, so I'm keeping the one she gave me since she wrote a little something in it and I love to get books with a note written inside. So, this is how it'll work, are you keeping up with me? Just leave a comment here, and here only, to make it easier for me to count names, and tell me if you've ever had a tea party? Don't panic, if you haven't yet, just tell me what kind of tea party you'd like to host someday? Now, to make the odds even better, post about my giveaway on your blog and I'll add your name twice. Wait, I'm not done yet, if one of your readers leave a note telling me where they came from and you posted about my giveaway, I'll enter your names in three times! Do I have your attention yet? I love hosting giveaways! I'm leaving this open through out my sister's visit and will draw a name from the teapot on the 18th so you have plenty of time to get cracking!

Winter has returned to the Ozarks once again, with 40 for a high today and another night of frost warnings. Now, I know the calendar says it's April but it sure doesn't feel like it and so many plants and trees are blooming. I hope Mother Nature has a plan for this tug of war with the weather? I think I'll make a cup of tea.....Good luck!

  1. Hi! I wandered over from the The Recipe Box Swap. Tea parties look so ladylike and refined. I've never had one but I've always wanted to have one for a baby shower. Since it would probably be a coed affair, it would probably have both dainty and hearty food so the guys wouldn't feel left out! Thanks for this terrific giveaway. :)

  3. I had a Tea Party for my two daughter's elementary teachers at the end of the school year. We had three teachers (the girls both had one of the teachers for their second grade). That made a total of six of us. I made cookies to enjoy with our tea. The girls felt very special hosting a tea for their teachers and the teachers felt special being invited! It was a great success.

  8. I've had tea parties all my life - starting when I was 6, when my grandfather brought me a Blue Willow Tea Set - children's size. I still have it - our kids had teaparties with it - and now our grandson does too. I also have tea parties with little sandwiches and cookies - with my grown up friends.

My favorite tea party was on a boat in Alaska - all the fishermen's wives were invited and I was asked to help pass the cookies - I was 8, and after the tea party I fell asleep on the window seat of the boat (actually it was a barge). I love tea parties.

  10. I used to have tea parties for my little nieces - I'd let them select which tea party items they wanted (tea sandwiches were a bigger hit than I expected), we'd set a little tea table with old-fashioned china pieces I'd get at a thrift store just for their party, we'd dress up and have a special time. I'm hoping to continue the tradition with their children some day. asthenight at gmail dot com

Yes, I have had tea parties and been to tea parties. My dining room is decorated with tea pots and my good friend Amy Witt (Life in Kansas) sent me here to enter the giveaway. She is great at giving tea parties. The one I remember giving was when my daughter was about 8. I asked all the guests to dress up and we used my china and it was very special to see all the little girls and teach them to act like little ladies.

    Hugs, Marcia

  41. I have had many tea parties...I just love them! They seem to bring out the best in us and make us want to pamper one another. My favorite to host was a party my mother and I hosted for all the women who serve in the children's ministry of our church. It was at Christmastime, so it was a wonderful time to relax and unwind from the stress of the season. The table was decorated with little Christmas village vignettes inside glass hurricane vases. The food was rich and delectable. But the most wonderful thing of all was the company. Each of those women (some old friends, some brand new to our circle) were so sweet and precious to be around. They shared their souls and spirits with us and it was a kindred, hallowed time. It was a blessing to be able to serve and honor these women who give so much during the year serving our children.

Your blog is lovely. So glad I found it!
