I Spotted Spring Giveaway!
Lookie what I found today while out walking around, my first sign of spring. Not sure what they are, they seem to be a wild crocus, a mini version too, only standing 3 inches. But they sure did stand out, I love the bright yellow, so cheery! So, now my hopes are high for the arrival of spring, planting gardens and just playing outside in the dirt! I'm so excited! I hope you too can spot spring where you live, it's such a wonder! To celebrate this fine day, I'm hosting another giveaway, you got it, spring themed! To enter just leave me a comment here about what blooms first in your area and let us know if it has yet. I'll leave this open till March 1st. that is Sunday, so get entered and spread the word, we wanna hear about spring, no more winter talk!

Living in the city, I never know when Spring actually gets here unless I see the daffodils next to the Royal Farm store where I do my laundry in the county. Those yellow crocus are beautiful. Thanks for sharing that gorgeous picture with us. xxoo
ReplyDeleteHi Sue I live in West Central Georgia and daffodils are blooming so beautiful and springy everywhere. Also our yellow bell bushes have pretty yellow blooms. Please sign me up for your give away.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue ... Like you, the bright yellow little crocus are the first to pop out of the ground here in S. Colorado. I've got tulips, hyacinths, and daffodils all pushing their green leaves up and the flowers are soon to follow! I just love the spring when everything seems new again! Have a God-blessed day!
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding? We still have snow and ice on the ground here. LOL I can't wait for the spring flowers. I think the tulips and daffodils are the first to poke through around here.
ReplyDeleteNothing as I can see yet has bloomed here. My Iris are still late bloomers, maybe they wont bloom this year? Het enter me in your drawing, please...
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous! I don't see any spring here at home. Saw the green shoots of daffies at the lake. We've had rain all day today. The temps are still warm though.
ReplyDeleteHere in the Sierra Foothills of CA, it's usually a tie between my yellow crocus (just like your photo) and my bright yellow King Alfred daffodils. My earliest daffodills bloomed this week.
ReplyDeleteYea for spring. I noticed the daffodils coming up last week, I will have to check tomorrow to see if any are blooming.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue I have tagged you with a blogger award! Come see me to pick it up!

ReplyDeleteI live in NE Indiana, crocus and grape hyacinths would be our first in bloomers, but sadly I have none planted so I haven't seen any yet LOL I keep hoping to see a hint of green returning to the grass.....
I LOVE spring! I live in Southern California, and though we don't get snow, it's been very cold. Just last week I looked out into the backyard, and my yellow daffodils had bloomed! They're every where! The yellow is so cheery! I can't wait to start my garden!
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring to you!
Its daffodils here. I am southeast Jersey and you know Spring is close when scads of daffodils start blooming, followed by the hyacinths and tulips. The man who owned this property before was an avid gardener and planted little beds of flowers everwhere! It is gorgeous when Spring finally comes in full bloom!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find! Hope that Spring is soon on its way!! Hooray!!
hugs,

I love your little crocus. We have some in our yard, but there is still a three foot layer of snow in my yard. The first sign of spring here is usually the snowdrops, they are right up by the house so they are protected a bit, then we usually get the scilla siberica, which is, to my mind, the most beautiful blue of spring. Thanks for showing us your lovely spring flowers...

We just moved from the Carolinas, & then it was the Wisteria, beautiful, purples everywhere. Now back in Ohio, little crocuses.
ReplyDeleteDaffodils are the first to show its pretty heads here. I have not seen them yet, but the weather is warming over the weekend, so won´t be too long anymore. I did see some crocuses already and some others which names I forgot, DUH! But daffodils and crocuses are the first,

Usually it's the crocus that bloom here first, and I can't wait to see them or anything that matter bloom!

We moved into our new home in September, two years ago. Its an old house and there was alot of work to do in the yard to make it look nice. The following spring, the first thing I noticed were some lilies planted around a big tree outside my kitchen window. I never even knew they were there they just showed up to welcome spring, and ME to the neighborhood!!! There are three different colors and they all bloom a week apart so I always have beautiful spring colors outside my window!
ReplyDeleteHi sue, you left a comment I think at MjF forum and asked how I was. I am fine and looking for signs of spring too. On my Small city scenes blog I posted some crocus I saw last week. So they are the usual first signs of Spring here although all the Spring bulbs are poking out of the ground and I also saw pussywillow as early as early Feb. So that's my story. MB
ReplyDeleteI live in Western washington, in the foothills of the cascade mountains. We have little snow drops that have bravely shown themselves and the daffodils that my hubby and I planted in Sept are poking little sprouts out of the ground. I posted pictures on my blog a few weeks ago - unfortunately nothing has changed because we got a little snow again this week!

I'm in Florida, and the Cherry Laurel Trees are all in bloom now. We had a freeze a week or two ago, and so many plants died! It will be a while to see what comes back again. Maybe after this beautiful rain we are having today, we will start to see lots of green! LOVE your crocuses!!!!
