Not a good start to 2009
Isn't life funny at times, on Sunday I was compelled to write about hope, today, I'm hanging on tight to those words, my hubby got laid off yesterday. The hard times have hit home. They said it was only temporary but no date set to return, so I pray. I'm worried, trying not to be, but we have no savings so for every week without a paycheck will take us 2 to get caught up, so I pray.
Oh, how I would love to live in this old house, by the lake, all cozy and warm. This place looks like you wouldn't have any cares in the world, just one on one with nature and leave the worries behind. But, we all know there is no such place. So, I will pray, hope and become more thrifty. We will make it....I'm hopeful!

Sweet Friend Sue, sorry to hear that news. I will say prayers and light a candle for you and your family. Through God's love you will persevere. Many blessings. xxoo
ReplyDeleteSue, I know exactly what you going through. Our savings are now gone, but with luck my husband will have part time work in about two weeks. We still have groceries and the utilities are paid. I take it a day at a time. I thank God every day for having another day. I walk everyday, even if I have to push myself out the door. Having time with nature does wonders for my outlook.
ReplyDeleteYou are in my prayers.
Cathy
I am sorry to hear this. My thoughts and prayers are on their way to you.

ReplyDeleteSue...Keep your Faith! My husband went through two major lay offs since 2000. His first one was with a company he was with for 29 years...

Dear Sue,
ReplyDeleteMy friend, it is absolutely going to be okay. God promises never to leave you or forsake you. He WILL take you through this. I know because my husband was out of work from last November '07 until August '08. God provided for us miraculously many times. He WILL provide for you. HOPE, FAITH,PRAYERS. Love your man like there's no tomorrow and pray together if he will.
God bless you, my friend.
Laura
By the way, we didn't have savings either. Get those taxes filed early if you expect a refund. We lived on our refund part of the year last year.
ReplyDeleteHHHHHUUUUUGGGG!
Laura
So sorry about that, in these times it could be any one of us, at any time! I am worried, we live in Michigan and we've been in recession for six years and it's only getting worse with auto layoffs ballooning! HUGS
ReplyDeleteOh, Sue, I'm so sorry to hear about the lay-off. That can be very scary but please, do not give up on your faith; when God closes a door, he will open up windows for you.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear this. My husband has been laid off since September. I am also PRAYING and trying to stay positive. Clip those coupons girl! then match them up with sale items. It will cut your grocery bill down in a MAJOR way! Cut all the corners you can. I will pray for you!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about all the trials in your life so early in the year. Hang in there. It seems to be that way for me as well so far.
ReplyDeleteRachel
Sue, I'm so sorry to hear about the layoff. My husband and I have been through this about 5, but when we were younger. Two times I was fixing to have our children. Stress is not good and all I can say is have faith, because He will provide. You will be in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteHugs sent your way,
Bonnie

Hang in there! My ex was laid off a few weeks ago as well, so there goes mine and my son's insurance and child support, not sure if I'll see that either. I have a few other friends who were laid off as well, so times really are tough. I have thyroid disease and have had cancer, so getting insurance is not easy for me and IF I can get it, it's super expensive. Things could always be worse, so just hang in there and know that everything happens for a reason and you will be okay!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your blog and was so sorry to hear about husbands lay off.I can tell you much about faith and hope as my honey and I of 36 years have been THROUGH and I say through many things in thses years and we are still getting through trial etc but with Gods grace and mercy he does provide but so hard in waiting room.Tie a knot and hang on tight it gets bumpy sometimes.Praying for you.By the way I have chosen same design on my blog
ReplyDeleteDear Sue,
ReplyDeletePlease know that I will be praying for you and your husband. I understand how hard this is--but I know our great God will take care of you. I know from experience when you draw near to God, He will draw near to you and you will have the "peace of God that passes understanding" during these troubled times.
With Love, concern, and prayer,
Claudia O.
I know how you feel, Stush has been off since last March. I try not to worry because it does no good only makes things worse so I keep praying not only for a job but for Stush... that he can find something that he loves to do♥

Keeping you in my prayers. Just remember HE will supply our needs. Most of us are without a large savings, it seems to take it to live. Just pray my friend. He will provide.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear this. keep your spirits up. Tough times call for tough people. I lived my whole life as a child of a road construction worker and we lived through layoff after layoff and through the many lean years of Reganomics. We almost starved to death then and my folks would never ever ask for a hand out. It was tough but we all survived. God bless you and our whole country. It is very scary times right now.
