Man Pleasers
Men are so hard to buy for, shop for and yes, sometimes cook for, but these soft molasses cookies are real man pleasers, my hubby loves them, his favorites in fact! So, if your looking for a cookie that the men in your life will enjoy and sometimes refer to as a childhood cookie, then these yummy ones are for you, or your man, in my case. I've promised him a batch for Christmas, all to his self!
Soft Molasses Cookie
1 c. sugar
1 c. oil
1 c. molasses
1 egg, beaten
4 t. hot water
1 Tbsp. vanilla
5 c. all purpose flour
1 1/2 t. cream of tartar
1 1/2 t. ginger, cinnamon
1/2 t. ground cloves
2/3 t. salt
Mix sugar, oil and molasses, add egg. Dissolve b. soda in hot water, add vanilla and mix well, set aside. Sift together flour, cream of tartar, spices and salt. Add water mixture, combine well with molasses mixture. Chill dough at least 3 hours. Roll out to 1/4 thick and cut out with cookie cutters or form a one inch ball and flatten with fork. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake at 375 for 7-9 min. Let cool, frost or not. Enjoy!
The rush is on, isn't it. Were making it simple this year, everyone is bringing a dish so we will end up with a big ole pot luck, tons of snacks and desserts for later on. Our weather has been so unreal this week, today it's been freezing rain and slippery! I hope everyone has a safe holiday and if you can stay home and bake, try some of these if you need something for a picky man!
