Pumpkin Turnovers
Here we are, heading towards the end of October, and since I've declared this fall month to pumpkin, I've got another yummy recipe for you to try out, I think this one will be on our Thanksgiving menu.
Pumpkin & Maple Turnovers
Turnover-
1 Pillsbury pie crust (15 oz.)
1/2 c. canned pumpkin
1/3 c. brown sugar
1/2 t. maple flavoring
1/2 t. pumpkin pie spice
Glaze-
1/2 c. powered sugar
1/4 t. maple flavoring
1 Tbsp. milk
1/4 c. chopped walnuts
Heat oven to 350. Remove crust from pouch, place on ungreased cookie sheet. In med. bowl, mix pumpkin, br. sugar, maple flavoring and spice till smooth. Spread pumpkin mixture over half of pie crust to within 3/4 in. of edge. Brush edge with water; fold crust over filling. Move turnover to center of cookie sheet, with fork, press edge to seal and prick top several times to vent. Bake 30 min. or till done. Cool 5 min.
In small bowl mix glaze ingredients till smooth and can be drizzled over warm turnover, sprinkle with walnuts. Let stand 10 min.
It's a cold fall day here, had our first hard freeze last night. With one week left to go till the election, I for one will be so glad to get it over with and behind us. I must say, I'm scared! I pray for the right man to take over, I pray for our country to stand together, I pray for things to get better. I'll be voting with a honest heart, and pumpkin turnovers for dessert! Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteThose turnovers looks so yummy and pretty too. I am going to make them for Thanksgiving eve when My brother and his family arrive. We also like to have a good hearty snak for them to enjoy as they are coming off the road from a 5 hour road trip. We also usually don't serve much for breakfast on the big morning and this wouyld make a nice light breakfats for the adults. Seems like the kiddos always want ceral anyway. Thanks for the nice recipe.
