Always Remember

Hard to believe it's been 2 years ago since Hurricane Katrina changed the world, and it did. It saddens me still to think of the horrible event, the lives lost, the homes ruined and the way our world is today because of one act of nature. The leveys may have broken, but so has the spirit of the people, not just the ones affected by the storm, but the ones who have helped, they too have to live with those memories and knowing, not all could be saved. My heart goes out to everyone who had a tie to the disaster. Here we are 2 years later, and still so many are left in Fema trailers in unsafe parks, houses with numbers reflecting the dead, and neighborhoods left untouched or claimed. Not just a city but our country has changed, it affects us all. Always remember, never forget, and always pray that it won't be repeated.

  1. I will never forget. My heart breaks each time I think of all that was lost and how hard things are for the families still today.

  2. I'll not forget. That was an amazing disaster! Some of the younger lineman from J's work were there to help restore power. They came back with so many sad stories.

  3. I don't think that America will forget Katrina very soon. It is still an ongoing project down south. I do hope the hurricane season is not as severe this year as they are predicting.

  4. My boys and I were discussing the storm the other day and commented that so many times we just let things like that fade away and how important it is to not let that happen.
