Downton Day!

I've tapped into my roots and got hooked on Downton Abbey, like so many before me, all it took was the first episode and I was done! My Mom was born and raised in England in the early 1920's, so while watching this show, I can really imagine what life was like for her as a child and my grandparents, whom I never knew. I do have a photo of my grandmother who came across the pond a few times to see me after I was born, but sadly that is all I know. I do hope to trace my family tree on the English side, till then I've got Downton Abbey to fall back on! It only took me 2 weeks to catch up till season 3 began last Sunday, So now every Sunday is Downton Day! Who else is hooked?

P.S. I forgot to let you know, that you can get all caught up on any of these: PBS, Netflix, Hulu Plus or Amazon Prime.

  1. Hi Susan, It must be an epidemic!
But really I would love to start from the beginning and watch it.
I think it would be wonderful to find some of your family history.
Hope your well and enjoying the new things the Lord has in this new year.

  3. I'm hooked! My ancestors came from England in the early 1600's....I had so much fun searching. My cousin did it all, before I did and he verified it all. So much fun! I have seen some of it 3 times!

  5. Love the dog tags!!!

Yes, I am hooked. Actually, my husband discovered it a few years ago on Netflix and we were hooked! This week was soooo sad! We try to only watch the new ones on Sundays. We want to because it is like "the old days"- you have to be patient and wait until it comes on...

That is so cool about your ancestry. My family is Scottish and Irish, but my dad's side did not keep any records. I just can't get anywhere! Ugh!

    Blessings!

Just found your blog...I got hooked on Downton Abbey the first season. I watch the current episodes on my computer. Usually on Monday evening via PBS.org.
    I'll be back.

  8. Loved hearing where you come from Sue!! Your necklace is cute too. I've set the dvr but haven't gotten into them totally yet. I'm sure it helps when you know the characters. Maybe I should start with the first season?
