We bloggers will use any ole excuse to have a giveaway and since most of us just can't stand the wait till spring, I thought I'd have a early spring giveaway, hoping for spring giveaway! Just leave a comment here with your favorite spring flower, just one please cuz this will be a poll also, just to cure my curiosity of what spring flowers are most popular. My valentine tulips above are just about done, but they fill my craft room with a sweet smell of spring, that is soon to come. We heard frogs Saturday night singing as our guests were leaving, perfect ending to a perfect day! Spring is soon. Come celebrate with me and leave your comments here to get entered in my giveaway, which will end March 7th. So, what is my favorite spring flower? It's a hard choice, but I'd have to say Lilac for it's heaven scent! I love to fill jars of this beauty and fill my house with the scent that only God could create! Your turn, good luck and looking forward to seeing what is our all time favorite spring flower!

GREAT THOUGHTS FOR A GIVEAWAY!!!!!!!
I think my favorite spring flower here is the buttercups. They are usually the first sign when we go riding in the early spring. Lilacs here don't bloom until May. Love them too and Daffodils which will be here in April.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the daffodils pop up...we always called them jonquils! Thanks! ♥
ReplyDeleteCherry Blossoms
ReplyDeletecrocus, purple, hidden in grassy lawns
ReplyDeleteDaffodils rank #1 for me...you just can't ignore their optimism and sunny disposition :)

OHOOOOOO Lilac for sure. We had so many pretty ones around the farmhouse I grew up in, I can still smell them. I have one big one now and just go stand under it when its in bloom. Bring a few into the house and they scent a whole room.
ReplyDeleteThankyou Sue for having a givaway.

I would say daffodils are my favorite. I love all the others but daffodils make me happy!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Days! Brenda
Well, living in the northeast, we don't get to see spring flowers quite as early as many other blog-friends do... I see many love lilacs! Me too, but that's more of a summer flower here, so I think I would say Lilies! Often at Easter time, the green grass is just peeking out from under the snow, and we see the many beautiful lilies being displayed in all the stores and store windows! They are a beautiful sign to me that either Spring is here, or it's at least on it's way! ~tina
ReplyDelete..hands down, my favorite spring flowers are the Dogwoods! I have always love them as far back I can remember. I love them even more ever since I came across this poem, below.
ReplyDeleteThe Dogwood Tree
Anonymous
When Christ was on earth, the dogwood grew
To a towering size with a lovely hue.
Its branches were strong and interwoven
And for Christ's cross its timbers were chosen
Being distressed at the use of the wood
Christ made a promise which still holds good:
"Not ever again shall the dogwood grow
To be large enough for a tree, and so
Slender and twisted it shall always be
With cross-shaped blossoms for all to see.
The petals shall have bloodstains marked brown
And in the blossom's center a thorny crown.
All who see it will think of Me,
Nailed to a cross from a dogwood tree.
Protected and cherished this tree shall be
A reflection to all of My agony."
I enjoy all Spring flowers, love lilacs at Mother's Day, but my fave is the crocus! My mother received a gift of crocus bulbs when I was born one September a few years ago. She planted those bulbs out back of the yellow farmhouse I grew up in, and for as long as I can remember, I watched for their spiky green foliage and deep purple blooms to appear in the snow! the first sign of spring!
ReplyDeletehyacinths are my favorites!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness - my favorite has to be hyacinths for their wonderful smell!
ReplyDeleteThanks!

ReplyDeleteI would have to go with tulips as my favorite spring flowers. But, daffodils are pretty, too. Did you know that tulips will continue to grow once they've been cut? I'm not sure, but they may be the only flowers that do. I love spring and can't wait 'til it gets here!
ReplyDeleteHello--
ReplyDeleteI am new to your blog--I popped over from Flat Creek Farm.
Really enjoyed your posts.
My favorite Spring flower would have to be the Daffodil just because they are so cheerful looking when they pop out! :)
I will be back to see what is going on.
Melinda
Crocus because they are the very first! Once I see them I know that the tulips, daffodils, hyacinth and Iris will follow.
ReplyDelete♥, Susan
I'm with you. LILACs. We had tons of them on the farm growing up. That has to be my favorite sign of spring!
ReplyDeleteI love Gerbera Daisies! Hyacinths and lilacs smell divine. Daffodils are a sure sign of spring. I love them all :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite flower that says Spring to me is a daffodil. I love to see their bright yellow crowns peeking up through the remains of the snow. It tells me that Spring will be in full swing in just a few short weeks. I always go out and pick as many bunches as I can. It gives the house hope while it waits, and makes the whole place smell crisp and fresh.
ReplyDeleteooh I can hardly wait for Spring now!!

hugs,
Jessie
